# Add funds Use the verified Smart Vault address, network, and asset shown in Chain. Add funds to your personal Smart Vault for play. Its balance is separate from your connected wallet's balance. Always check the destination address, network, and asset before sending. ## From your connected wallet 1. Sign in and open [My Smart Vault](https://chain.wtf/vault). [Create the vault](/account/create-your-wallet/) first if needed. 2. Select **Add funds** and choose **Connected wallet** as the source. 3. Check the asset, network, amount, and Smart Vault destination. Review the transfer and approve any required wallet request. 4. Wait for the result. If the transfer is still pending or unknown, use **Check add-funds status** for the same attempt before sending again. ## With an address or QR code 1. Open the receive details through **Add via QR or address**. 2. Wait until Chain shows the Smart Vault address, network, and asset together. Do not guess missing details or use a Sample address. 3. Copy the full address or scan the QR code in the sending wallet. Select the exact network and asset shown by Chain; a QR code alone does not select them for you. 4. Compare the recipient, network, asset, and amount in the sending wallet before confirming. 5. Keep the sending transaction hash. After confirmation, check the vault balance and [recorded activity](/funds/balances-and-activity/). If copying fails, select and copy the displayed address manually. If the address or other receive details are unavailable, wait for them before sending, including a test transfer. ## From another network Choose **Another network** as the source when it is available. The bridge flow needs a ready Smart Vault destination, verified Base USDC, and a supported route. Review the source asset and network, destination, amount, and fees in the transfer flow before approving it. Route availability can change. A bridge quote or submitted transaction does not by itself confirm receipt in your Smart Vault. Track the same transfer and follow [funding troubleshooting](/troubleshooting/funding/) if the result is unclear. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I send funds when receive details are unavailable? Wait until Chain shows the Smart Vault address, network, and asset together. Use its retry option if offered. Do not guess the missing details, rely on an old saved address, or send a test transfer. If they remain unavailable, [contact support](https://chain.wtf/contact) with the public owner-wallet address and message shown. ### What if Copy fails? Select the full displayed address and copy it manually, or scan the QR code. Compare the full recipient address in the sending wallet with Chain's address, then check the network and asset before confirming. If any of those details are unavailable or do not match, stop before sending. ### I sent funds but the balance has not changed. Should I send them again? Do not send it again yet. Check the same transfer in your sending wallet and compare its recipient, network, asset, and amount with the current Smart Vault receive details. Use **Check add-funds status** if Chain shows a pending direct-deposit attempt. For a bridge, check the route and destination status too. After a confirmed result, refresh the vault balance. An empty activity view does not prove no transfer occurred. If the details match but the balance still looks wrong, follow [funding troubleshooting](/troubleshooting/funding/) and keep the transaction hash for support. ## Related - [Funds](/funds/) - [Your account](/account/) - [Funding problems](/troubleshooting/funding/)
