# Your first game

Check game availability, wallet access, and funds before placing a bet.

Start from an available game in the [casino catalog](https://chain.wtf/casino). A familiar game name may still have Chain-specific rules, so read that game's [guide](/guides/) and the information on its page before choosing a stake.

1. Open the game page and confirm it is playable. If it says the game is unavailable, choose another game from the catalog.
2. Follow the game's access action: **Log in**, **Create Smart Vault**, or **Connect signing key**, whichever it shows. [Sign-in help](/getting-started/sign-in/) and [signing-access help](/account/signing-access/) explain those steps.
3. Open your [wallet page](https://chain.wtf/vault) and check its balance. If you need funds, follow the address, network, and asset shown under [Add funds](/funds/add-funds/).
4. Return to the game, review its stake and outcome information, and use the game's own controls to play.

If the game cannot prepare a session or says its latest on-chain state has not synced, wait for the displayed state and use [interrupted-game help](/troubleshooting/interrupted-games/) before attempting another round. An action that still shows pending should be checked before you repeat it.
