Create your wallet

Set up the personal Smart Vault shown in your Chain account.

Your Smart Vault holds the funds you use for play, separately from your connected owner wallet. Signing in identifies the owner; creating the vault is a separate action that you approve.

  1. Sign in with the wallet you intend to use as the owner. Chain checks for that wallet’s existing Smart Vault.
  2. Wait for the lookup to finish. If the page cannot check the account, use its retry option; an unavailable lookup does not mean you need a new vault.
  3. If Chain confirms that no vault exists, use Create Smart Vault or Set up Smart Vault. The creation view may open after sign-in; you still choose whether to continue.
  4. Review the account, network, and any creation requirements. Approve the requested wallet action, then wait for the creation result.
  5. Check that the vault address appears. If creation remains unconfirmed, use Check creation status for the same transaction before starting another.

Creation uses an on-chain transaction. A supported sponsored flow may cover its gas, but sponsorship is conditional. Follow the requirements shown for your account; do not assume every setup is free.

If the creation flow asks for a minimum deposit, check the displayed address, network, asset, and amount before sending. That deposit becomes the vault’s balance after creation. Do not send another deposit just because the first is still being checked.

Use the same owner wallet. Chain looks up its vault automatically; another wallet can resolve a different vault. An existing vault may still need browser signing access before you can play. Restoring that access updates the existing vault’s signing key rather than creating another vault.

Creation saves a signing key in this browser. When setup is ready, add funds if needed. Signing in, opening the creation view, or finishing setup does not automatically start a bet.

Wait for Chain to check the connected owner wallet and network. A failed lookup does not prove that you need a new vault. Follow any displayed creation requirement, including a minimum deposit if a supported sponsored flow asks for one. Use only the address, network, asset, and amount shown. If configuration or account details remain unavailable, contact support before sending funds.

What if the app says this account already has a Smart Vault?

Section titled “What if the app says this account already has a Smart Vault?”

Use the same owner wallet and reopen My Smart Vault to check its address. You may need to restore this browser’s signing access, rather than create another vault. If the lookup stays unavailable, contact support with the public owner address and message. An existing-vault message does not confirm the outcome of a separate creation attempt.

What if creation fails or stays on Creating…?

Section titled “What if creation fails or stays on Creating…?”

Use Check creation status for the same attempt and check any transaction in your wallet. Do not create again while the outcome is unknown. A submitted request, rejected prompt, and confirmed revert are different states; pending-action help explains the checks. If the result remains unclear, give support the public wallet address, network, message, and transaction hash if available.
